In the beginning was the word, and that word brought about action. More precisely, in the beginning there was a vision to build a rehabilitation center from which visitors would leave satisfied and rejuvenated.
It was a time of great expectations, a post-revolution period. However, the idea, no matter how excellent, cannot always be realized. Initial calculations showed that neither insurance companies nor self-payers would pay for necessary health care. The clash with harsh reality was unpleasant, but it did not mean capitulation.
Because the rehabilitation alone was not able to ensure the viability of the project, let alone the return on invested funds, the idea was born to build a hotel with premium services. And if a hotel, then also a restaurant, something for entertainment and relaxation. We must not forget that it was the year 1992, a million crowns was money back then, let alone several tens of millions.
The original budget assumed 45 million CZK. Ing. Arch. Pelcl had a difficult task, the project was revised several times for various reasons.
Hotel History
It was quite audacious to sign a contract for work worth 45 million and have exactly one tenth available. However, obtaining a loan at that time was so easy. Fortunately, VST provided supplier credit, and thus land was purchased with the bank loan, which, as it later turned out, ensured the reality of cash flow and the financing of the entire project.
Foundation of the building was very complicated because two thirds of the building are on underground piles 8 m long and 120 cm in diameter, as there was originally a ravine here, which was filled in 1974 with material from the construction of tanks for industrial water.
The actual construction began in September 1993, by marking of the base point at an altitude of 275 m above sea level, from which the curve of the building body unfolds. The gradual progress of the construction is documented by the photographs presented below. VST set a fairly decent pace and after two years gradual acceptance took place, first the balneo part, then the restaurant part, and lastly the accommodation part.
The entire complex was put into operation on June 29, 1995.
Gradually, the surroundings were adjusted by establishing a pond, which solved the problem of high groundwater level on one side, and the wetlands in the area of today’s pond, where a spring flowed out, on the other. Furthermore, a grill area was built, which expanded the possibilities for the use of the entire complex. Subsequently, a “chess” gazebo was constructed.
The last stage of construction took place at the turn of 2004/2005 by building underground garages, a wine bar and a wine cellar in the space between the right side of the original building and the grill area. At the same time, the parking area in front of and above the garages was modified. This stabilized the entire slope and created prerequisites for the completion of the originally planned Phase II.
Thanks to the comprehensively designed park, since 2005 we have been intensively organizing wedding ceremonies and receptions. Ceremonies are held either on the covered pier above the Brčálník pond, or in the hotel park under the festively decorated ceremonial arch.
Currently, thanks to a tent measuring 15x18 meters with a roof height of 5.5 m, we can arrange a wedding feast for 120+ people. The entire wedding day can thus take place in a relaxed atmosphere of a beautiful outdoor setting with grilling on a covered grill area and subsequent evening seating in the hotel's Wine Cellar.

Hotel History
In 2017, the hotel underwent a complete reconstruction of the entrance area, reception, restaurant, and all hotel rooms, corridors, and conference facilities. All these areas were equipped with air conditioning.
