Are you interested in spending your time in an active way? Here are some tips from us:

The town of Kosmonosy itself, situated just north of Mlada Boleslav, is a home to a baroque architectural treasure - the Loreto, a copy of its more famous Prague cousin, built in the early 18th century.

Mlada Boleslav is a town mostly renowned for its more than one century long tradition of car making. However sites such as the Bohemian Brothers´ Choir and the Castle remind all visitors of its long past and a rightful place in the history of the Czech Lands. Skoda Auto museum with many historical and currently made car models on display offers the visitors a look into the past, the present and the future of car manufacturing from its humble beginnings to the current production line.

Fifteen kilometers north of Mlada Boleslav lies the town of Mnichovo Hradiste. The local chateau houses a rare library and a unique collection of ceramics. The tomb of a famous Thirty-year war general, one of the movers of central European middle age history Albrecht Valdstejn is located in the surrounding park. A bit further north, near the town of Turnov lies the Sychrov chateau with beautiful gardens.

To the northeast of Mlada Boleslav lies a natural and cultural gem, an area rightly known as the Bohemian Paradise. A triangle made by the cities of Mlada Boleslav, Turnov and Jicin delineate its approximate boundary. With its deep woods, bizarre sandrocks, lakes and castles such as Kost, Trosky, Humprecht, Hruba Skala and Valdstejn it is a showcase of natural and cultural treasures. Bohemian Paradise is interwoven with pedestrian and bicycle trails. Discovering its secrets is a feast for both the body and mind.

To the northwest, in the direction of Ceska Lipa is a royal castle Bezdez, founded by Premysl Otakar II. Bezdez's skyline is an inseparable part of the country which gave inspiration to one of the great Czech poets - K.H. Macha in his work Maj (May). The nearby lake bearing his name is a suitable place for water sports and relaxation.

The natural park Jabkenicko with many ponds lies to the southeast of Mlada Boleslav. It was here, in the gamekeeper's lodge, where the already deaf famous composer Bedrich Smetana found his refuge. While in the care of his daughter and despite his predicament he went on to compose what became known as probably his best peace - Moje vlast (My country)

The Benatky nad Jizerou chateau is the dominant feature of the countryside southwest of Mlada Boleslav. During the reign of Rudol II, it was here where the royal astronomer Tycho Brahe observed the skies. His observations served as a database enabling his contemporary Copernicus to formulate his heliocentric theory. Toy museum and golf club Resort Paradise are also located here.
